Affirmations for Success Tips
If you want to use affirmations for success, here are a few quick tips to do it right.
Do Them Every Day
No one gets instant results from affirmations aside from a temporary mood lift. But do them over and over again, and you will experience profound change in your life weeks and months down the line. Just like the Grand Canyon, small changes can add up to a big effect in the long run. Start a ritual of doing affirmations for 5 minutes each day and turn it into a habit.
Use Powerful Affirmations that Excite You
“I am happy” doesn’t cut it. Use words and phrases that inspire you and charge you with emotion. If you’re not a little uncomfortable saying them then you’re probably playing it safe. Remember, your goal is to create entirely new belief systems, not ones you already have. It’s also great to make your affirmations action oriented, such as “I enjoy working hard to accomplish my goals” or “I love to exercise every day.” It is after all, massive action that gets real results.
Do Them in a Comfortable Place
A great place to do affirmations is at home because you can sit in peace and not be bothered (hopefully!). You can also recite them in your head when you’re relaxing at a coffee shop, or taking a break at work. You should be able to relax, the more the better. The best times to recite affirmations are right after you wake up and right before going to sleep. Your subconscious is most receptive when you’re at the edge of consciousness.
Turning a Technique into a System
If you find yourself having trouble doing them every day, here’s a cool shortcut I found that works really well. A while ago a company designed some cutting edge affirmation software that basically automates the process of doing them without requiring any extra time or effort on your part. If this sounds too good to be true, it isn’t. I’ve been using it myself and noticing a real difference over the last few weeks, and I even stopped doing my #1 bad habit (video games!). The software might not be useful for everyone but it’s ideal if you spend a lot of time on the computer.
